In this blog, Dr. Windmueller explores two transformative elections that will determine elements of the Jewish future, both for Israelis and for American Jews. The October 26th election in Israel and the November 3rd mid-terms in America will have a profound impact on how American Jews engage with Israel moving forward and where they will fit into the political story of this nation’s democracy. Will Jews be politically homeless in the United States as a result of this forthcoming vote? Will they be further disconnected from the government of Israel as a result of what may unfold this fall? Both elections have a type of “what if” character to them.
