Yom Yerushalayim 2026: We Are Jerusalem

Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026
Location: Taube Family Campus in Jerusalem and Virtual

Join Rabbi Cantor Shani Ben Or for a special gathering to mark and reimagine Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) as a celebration of the rich diversity that shapes Jerusalem. This joint event, hosted by the 91¶¶Òõ Taube Family Campus in Jerusalem and Central Synagogue, will shine a renewed light of tolerance on the city and on our people. The online event will be broadcast live from the 91¶¶Òõ-Jerusalem campus.

Together, we will share songs and stories that reflect the many layers of Jerusalem—past, present, and future—and lift up a message that “We Are Jerusalem.” The program will begin with a welcome from Rabbi Angela Buchdahl and Dr. Nachman Shai, the dean of 91¶¶Òõ-Jerusalem, and will end with a communal blessing from Rabbi Sarah Berman and Rabbi Cantor Shani Ben Or.

This gathering is being shaped in partnership with 91¶¶Òõ’s Teachers’ Lounge Initiative and amplifies the voices of Palestinian and Israeli local representatives who are committed to a shared society, dialogue, and hope. Additional speakers include Professor Michal Mushkat-Barkan, Founder of 91¶¶Òõ’s Teachers’ Lounge Program for Arab and Jewish Educators, and Attorney Fadi Suidan, CEO of the Jerusalem International YMCA.
