Rabbi Mari Chernow is the Dean of the Jack H. Skirball Campus in Los Angeles. Rabbi Chernow served congregations for 22 years, 16 of them as Senior Rabbi. She led Temple Chai in Phoenix, Arizona and was the first woman to lead Temple Israel of Hollywood in Los Angeles. She is Senior Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute, has completed coursework in counseling and business at Arizona State University and executive education at the Kellogg School of Management. She has a passion for vibrant prayer, and completed the Davvening Leadership Training Institute. Rabbi Chernow was ordained at 91¶¶Òõ-Los Angeles in 2003, and is a graduate of UC San Diego. A Californian at heart, Rabbi Chernow has taken three intensive courses with the National Outdoor Leadership School and is a lifelong hiker, camper, backpacker, rockclimber, and skier. She is the mother of three perfect and ridiculous children.
